TOTHEMOON Incorporates Forthewin (FTW) Into the Universe
All was at peace on the moon. The new moon was drawing to a close as the illuminated portion would soon show itself…creatures settled into their habitat…the moon candy made their fall from the sky….things were finally settling down. Us Cryptonauts were doing great as well. We abided by the Moon Code, just as the Moon Babies expected us to, minded our own business- we explored, researched, as well as built the community (and continue to do so). I can only speak for myself, but I know I had never felt so good in my life. My work finally mattered and we got into our own little groove.
One day, on an excursion to the Northern Mountainous region of our side, we stumbled upon something completely out of the ordinary. It all started when we were heading uphill, exhausted- only 30 minutes into our journey. Yes, I need to get some more moon cardio in, but that’s besides the point… we found strange, ancient-looking symbols that were engraved into the pathways and outer walls of the mountains. They continued all the way up and at about the halfway point, we discovered what seemed to be….battle arenas! Could this be? Ancient battle arenas? With seats? A central area? A Roman amphitheater on the moon? What was this? We stood along the outer edges for the spectators when we noticed something that looked like a scoreboard. Puzzled, we observed in a daze…until the Moon Babies appeared out of thin air from behind the group.
“Took you long enough”
“We already knew exactly when they would find this place, HODL.” said OPAL
“I know but I just like to bug them.” She responded.
“Well, Congrats team!” Shouted NEON.
“Congrats for what?” I ask.
“You found the Hidden Arenas! I knew you would.” said ORBA.
“Like I said, we always knew they would. Said so in my crystal ball…” responded OPAL.
“But I just believed in them…in us…in this entire community of ours!”
“These Arenas are from an ancient civilization in the Cryptonian Galaxy, that once settled long ago.” Explained NEON.
“Well, where are they now? Did they leave? Why?” Asked a curious Cryptonaut.
NEON ignored the question and continued,
“Where was I? Oh, ya so now that you found them, you can participate in Tournaments here. These events will reward winners with assets to help on their quest to successfully colonize the moon. But the only way to enter these tournaments is to own a RUNE…Wait, ORBA, why is your throne glowing?”
Right at that moment that we looked to her throne and noticed it was fluorescent, all those symbols we saw on the side of the mountain and ground appeared in our hands- perfectly chiseled squares of moon rock with the symbol engraved in the middle. Each rune was composed of several different colours and had numbers engraved from 1–10.
“How did that happen? Are these the runes?” Asked a Cryptonaut.
“You must respect and honor the runes in your hand. And remember, there is always more than meets the eye. Go forward, and look beyond. Go for the win.”
And just as quick as they appeared, the Moon Babies left into the night’s sky.
